4. Summer Camp - Mission to Mars

29th July - 2nd August 2024

Description

It`s an exciting time for space travel as astronauts and scientists get closer and closer to establishing human colonies on the red planet! By the year 2050 is it quite likely there could be a city on Mars of over 1 million people and perhaps our children will even have the opportunity to visit or even live in space. Throughout the week we will discover what it takes to colonize Mars and launch a space mission. Discover the universe with galaxy slime, build a magnetic solar system, investigate Martian rock samples and frozen carbon dioxide, discover alien creatures, design and launch rockets, make Martian ice cream and programme a space buggy We will adventure to the planetarium in Lucerne where we will be able to star gaze and see the sky at night. We have an incredible program of fun, themed activities to spark the children`s interest and imagination. Children will discover science and begin to use the scientific method to investigate and explore concepts helping them to think critically and problem solve. Our themed sports sessions promote physical activity in a fun and engaging way. Throughout the week we serve healthy food and encourage teamwork and friendships through shared mealtimes, snacks and opportunities for free play and themed crafts. We understand the importance of friendships and every morning camp starts with team games enabling the children to settle in quickly. We do everything we can to help the children make friends because we realize this has a huge impact on the enjoyment of the week for children. Our camps are unique from a school environment. We believe in replicating real life situations where all ages work together. Younger campers look up to and learn from older campers who are role models. They take more responsibility and develop important leadership skills. We care deeply about every single child and our priority is the children`s safety, happiness and wellbeing. We encourage participation but always have an alternative supervised option. Time: 9:30 – 16:30 Drop off: 9:00 – 9:30 Pick up: 16:30 – 16:45 Parking: Limited, 5-10 minutes walk away.
