Winter Season – Science Club The after-school science programme brings children on an exciting, hands-on journey through chemistry, biology, physics, and technology. Each session is designed to spark curiosity, inspire confidence, and nurture a genuine love of discovery. All children are welcome to join the programme; enrollment at SIS Rotkreuz International School is not required. This winter’s workshop line-up introduces a fresh mix of fascinating themes. Young scientists will explore what makes skeletons strong, uncover the incredible workings of the digestive system, and investigate the secrets hidden in everyday foods. They will test the surprising power of surface tension, meet a quirky underwater friend named Squiddy, and become heat detectives while tracking how warmth moves through conduction and convection. The season also includes a festive creative twist with glowing LED cards, electricity-generating fruit experiments, a thrilling laser maze challenge, and delightfully messy investigations into non-Newtonian fluids — just a taste of what’s in store. Throughout the programme, children strengthen essential scientific skills including experiment planning, observation, critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity. Every session blends fun with meaningful learning, helping young learners build a lasting connection to the world of science.
